I am the Careers Adviser & Co-ordinator at Urmston Grammar School based in Trafford, Greater Manchester, where I work 4 days a week. I first began working at the school in 2006 while employed by Trafford Connexions, but I became directly employed by the school in 2015. I studied the Qualification in Careers Guidance (Level 7) at Nottingham Trent University during 2003-2004 and then gained employment with Connexions Merseyside for one year before joining Trafford Connexions. I later also achieved the Diploma in Careers Education, also awarded by Nottingham Trent University, while working. I lead on the Quality in Career Standard Award, which we first achieved in July 2018. With a highly supportive Careers Leader, Headteacher, Senior Leadership Team, and staff, we were the first grammar school and school with a sixth form, and the second school in Trafford, to achieve 100% in all 8 Gatsby Benchmarks in June 2022. I really enjoy working in Careers, and especially supporting young people to flourish. I am looking forward to networking within the Careers Circle community.
