Careers Guidance

We have invested in an Careers Advisory service provided by The Careers People (company number: 14927864). The advice and guidance given to our students is personalised, impartial and delivered by a qualified professional.

Each student leaves their meeting with a Careers Action Plan and we follow the recommendations of the advisor to confirm if the student needs a follow up appointment, ensuring that their needs are met throughout the year rather than just as a "tickbox" one off appointment.

Students are able to request a Careers Appointment at any time by speaking to their tutor. They will be added to our priority list and given an appointment slot as soon as one becomes available.

Our subscription to The Careers People's Apprenticeship Academy allows us to refer all our learners in Years 10-13 who are interested in an apprenticeship to take part in a 6 week online programme where they learn where to find apprenticeships, how to apply for apprenticeships and how to approach interviews & assessments. These sessions are run by a qualified careers advisor and participants are able to ask questions throughout the programme to gain personalised support.

In addition to this information session, participants also benefit from hearing from 6 different apprentices and employers across the 6 weeks. These are live sessions where students can ask questions and gain support.

We refer students at three points during the academic year (September, February and June) so whenever they show an interest in the Apprenticeship route, we are able to provide them with high quality support and guidance on this pathway.
