About the event
National Care Leavers Month is an annual event in November dedicated to celebrating care leavers and raising awareness about the challenges they face. This year marks the first National Care Leavers Month, with the theme "Rising as Me: Overcoming challenges, transforming, and finding your identity".
Within this session, we will be joined by Nicola Turner who will share key statistics around the additional challenges that care experienced young people face when making career related decisions. We will consider the role that we, as careers professionals, play in these young people's lives and discuss strategies to ensure we are supporting them to overcome the barriers they have in place.
