Do you love Career Guidance?

Every challenge and triumph it includes? The light in clients eyes when they realise their purpose? We already have so much in common! Here at The Careers People we treasure the often unsung privilege of supporting clients in their pursuit of a fulfilling life. We want to celebrate the impact of all career professionals. Whether you work with students, career changers or the long term unemployed, join the campaign to show the difference we're making to people's lives.

Campaign Purpose

A 2023 Reed survey of students and parents of students found that 36% of parents believe that it’s the school’s responsibility to provide careers advice and guidance and 58% of students wanted more career advice from their school. And yet, the benefit of qualified Career Advisors and high quality career programmes is still overlooked or undervalued and underutilised.

We hope that this campaign can highlight the importance of what we do and how it aids students’ journeys into becoming thriving, happy adults. We also want to inspire pride in your pivotal work and influence.

Impact & Proof

Preventing NEET

Of the estimated 923,000 young people that are Not in Education Employment or Training, 8% could have been more likely to avoid this with quality careers guidance. This can go up to 20% for disadvantaged students! That’s potentially between 73,840 and 184,600 students thriving after leaving school... Because of us!

Empowering Clients

Career guidance can give clients power and control over their future. As an advisor, you help inform those you're working with of the opportunities out there and guide them through whichever path they choose to conquer, allowing them to take the reins of their future when it feels like they have no agency.

Uplifting the Underserved

According to the National Audit Office, 27% of children in state-funded schools are underserved. That's 2.1 million children. 26% of underserved young people are around 50% more likely to be NEET compared to their similarly qualified but better-off peers. But with our career guidance, up to 20% of these children are less likely to become NEET.

Impact Stories

But that's just the numbers, and we all know that NEET young people are SO much more than a statistic. Each has their own individual story. Here you can read real stories from Careers Advisors working with clients in varying settings to support them to find their purpose.
